Luna is a whimsical children’s play that follows the story of Soledad, a young girl who finds an unexpected friend in the moon. Through her friendship with Luna, Soledad explores themes of loneliness, curiosity, and imagination, discovering her own courage and connection to the world around her.
For this production, Lauren took on the role of costume designer, creating costumes that embodied the play’s enchanting and heartfelt themes. From detailed research to hands-on crafting through Southwestern University’s costume work study program, she designed pieces that brought Soledad’s magical world to life. Lauren’s vision and creativity were essential in shaping the visual storytelling, adding depth to the characters and engaging young audiences in the play’s imaginative journey.
This presentation is an accumulation of the research that Lauren put in during her experience costume designing Luna.
